After all of the hype behind Amazon’s Super Bowl commercial, Alexa has lost her voice for real. The virtual assistant behind Amazon’s long range of Amazon Echo and Echo dot devices has won over the hearts of people all over the world.
Considering how beloved Alexa is, it is no surprise that many people noticed that their Amazon devices were not as chatty as they used to be. While this came as a concern to many people, everyone should know that there is no reason for you to be alarmed and that you are not alone.
There was a little bit of downtime on Amazon’s servers, shutting down the Alexa app for a few hours. This meant that a lot of people were working with a silent or delayed voice assistant, which was particularly ironic considering Amazon’s recent commercial joking about if Alexa lost her voice.
Everyone should be happy to hear that Alexa is back up and running! Everything should be back in working condition and Alexa should be just as perky as usual.
While this event came as a surprise, it is a great example of how reliant these devices are on a single system. We will have to wait and see if Amazon will take some measures in order to prevent something like this from happening again.
