Unfortunately, many people experience some form of harassment in their place of employment and it can be a very uncomfortable situation for everyone involved. While it can be a very hard situation to deal with, AI chatbot technology seems to have found a way to help.
AI chatbots are software that allows for an autonomous conversation. Much different than a regular chatbot, this technology allows for increased flow of communication and allows for more complex conversations.
People that experience harassment at work may feel discouraged from reporting their feelings to HR. AI Chatbots may allow a platform where individuals can report problems without dealing with the fear of judgment and maintaining a larger sense of anonymity.
Two engineers from Switzerland and Germany have created such a program they call Spot. Spot is an online bot that helps victims report their harassment online using research-backed, cognitive interview technique.
The bot will help answer important questions and organize the victim’s answers into a formal layout. The interview will then be converted to a PDF where it can easily be sent to HR without ever having the need to personally recount the interview with an HR person.
This is one of the great examples where AI technology is being used to make the world a better place.
