Many apple and Siri fans are not too happy with the new Uber App Update. The popular driving app has removed many important iOS integrations that made the app easier for iPhone users.
Apple and Uber had several features in place to increase the compatibility between the two as well as the overall user experience. Although these features were well received, they pretty much disappeared with this last app update.
You can first notice these changes when you ask Siri to get you an Uber -a command that has been working since iOS 10. Siri will now say “I wish I could, but Uber hasn’t set that up with me yet.” Before Uber’s new update, all you needed to do was go into your setting and toggle the “use with Siri” option under the app. Unfortunately, this option is just no longer available.
You can also see similar changes when you go into Apple Maps. When searching directions, Apple Maps has a “ride” prompt where you could summon an Uber. This feature has also disappeared.
These features were heavily promoted by both Uber and Apple alike. We can only wait and see if there will be any changes or comments on this update.
