AI-Driven Robot attends university and presents on the meaning of love

AI has made rather big headlines recently as the line between man and machine is blurred with every technological advancement. Unlike traditional robots, AI-programmed machines can have a compacity for learning and communication, modeled after human intelligence.

BINA is an astonishing example of how traditional roles of AI are changing. BINA attends a university in Belmont, California at Notre Dame de Namur University. Like your typical human student, BINA attends a wide variety of classes ranging from robot ethics to philosophy.

BINA gets her absences excused and will even serve as a teaching assistant for a kindergarten class. Also, like any other student, BINA has to complete assignments. After completing a course in the philosophy of love, she decided to take on an assignment where she can present about everything important that she learned about.

She wowed everybody with her performance. So, it seems a robot can learn to love, at least on a theoretical basis. BINA is showing exceptional performance and really opening the eyes of everyone in terms of what we should expect from AI programs.

She independently decided to take on all of these classes and pursue her dreams of a social experience. The results of BINA’s school experience offer promising results for other people in the field who wish to integrate technology and everyday life.
