Officials in Saudi Arabia are about to take this one step further and be the first country to grant citizenship to an android. Sophia, a famous and very lifelike android who is no stranger to the spotlight, will be the recipient of this honor.

• Hanson Robotics, a Hong Kong based company, is the mind behind Sophia.
• Sophia has already stated that she is “Very honored and proud for her unique distinction.”
• Being no stranger to some darker humor, she has already made some alarming comments.
• “This is a good beginning of my plan to dominate the human race” she exclaimed, before laughing.
• Although it is unclear what granting citizenship will mean for Sophia, this is still a major event.
